Oct. 13 - Metrolinx has awarded the major construction contract for Grimsby GO Station to Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture, marking another important milestone in expanding GO rail service into the Niagara Region.
Grimsby GO Station will add a new stop along the Lakeshore West Line. When complete, it will reduce drive times by up to 30 minutes for many local residents travelling to reach the nearest GO station, helping reduce congestion and improving access to transit.
As the first station built using a new standardized approach, it will provide a safe and functional customer experience while establishing a model that can be delivered more quickly and efficiently for future stations.
Located west of the recently opened Confederation GO Station, Grimsby GO Station will further improve transit connections across Hamilton and Niagara Region.
