Get ready to GO to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

Leave your car – and horse – at home and take GO Transit to the fair.

Oct 25, 2024

If you see two charismatic alpacas walking through Union Station at the end of the month, don’t be alarmed. Dawson and Pacey – yes, they’re named after the beloved Dawson’s Creek characters – are heading to Toronto for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (RAWF), running Nov. 1–10 at Exhibition Place.

The alpacas are this year’s official Royal Ambassadors. Originally from Rockwood, ON, they will ride the GO train on the Lakeshore East line from Scarborough GO into Union Station on Oct. 30 to promote the world’s largest combined indoor agricultural fair and international equestrian competition.

What to expect at the 2024 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair

Now in its 102nd year, the RAWF truly has something for everyone – from agricultural showcases to square dancing, artisan vendors, a rodeo and even a butter sculpture display. If you love the excitement of live competition, don’t miss the world-renowned Royal Horse Show, where Olympians and other top international athletes compete on horseback in show jumping. The horse show also features Canada’s largest variety of equine breeds.

There are plenty of dining options at the RAWF so be sure to bring your appetite. Taste some of the best cheese, jams, honey, butter tarts, pickles and more at the Champions Showcase; grab an elevated meal at The Harvest; or saddle up to the BullPen Saloon for a cowboy style lunch and a couple of beers.

Plus, on select dates, enjoy dishes from the very best of Canada’s culinary talent with the Chefs Table Dinner Series, which includes intimate three- to five-course dinners or brunch from the likes of chefs Michael Bonacini, Coulson Armstrong, Albert Ponzo, Jason Bangerter and Donna Dooher.
