Durham-Scarborough BRT
- Projets et Programmes
- SAR de Durham-Scarborough
Project overview
The proposed Durham-Scarborough BRT (DSBRT) line consists of 36 kilometres of bus rapid transit that would serve Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering and Scarborough. Improved transit along Highway 2 across the Toronto and Durham boundary would link communities, employment, schools and other major destinations in the Region.
The proposed project aims to create seamless connections with local transit networks, providing the residents of Durham Region and the City of Toronto more flexibility and choice to get where they need to go, faster and more reliably.
The DSBRT project was assessed under the Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP) in accordance with Ontario Regulation 231/08. On March 28, 2022, the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks issued a Notice to Proceed with the transit project. As the final step of the TPAP, Metrolinx and Durham Region have issued a Statement of Completion. More information is available on our Environmental Assessment webpage.
