Bowmanville Extension
Metrolinx is extending the Lakeshore East line to Bowmanville
The Bowmanville Extension will extend the Lakeshore East Line nearly 20 kilometres to Bowmanville, connecting more of Durham Region to fast, reliable two-way, all-day rail service.
The Bowmanville Extension, is expected to serve approximately 17,000 daily riders by 2041, will reduce in-vehicle travel time from Bowmanville to Union Station by 15 minutes compared to travelling by GO bus and transferring to rail at Oshawa.
Once complete, customers will enjoy half hourly peak direction and hourly off-peak service to/from Bowmanville..
The Bowmanville Extension is currently in construction For more information on project phases, please check out our project lifecycle page.
