Metrolinx updates COVID-19 cases - Oct 2020
Throughout the pandemic, the transit agency has updated the public on new staff cases of the virus.

Metrolinx has been informed that an office employee working out of 97 Front Street West has tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member has not been at office since September 25 and appears to have contracted the virus from outside the work location.
The employee did not work with GO Transit or UP Express customers.
The employee, who wore a mask while in the building, is now recovering at home and they are receiving support from Metrolinx officials and fellow employees.
Throughout the past seven months of this pandemic, Metrolinx has been proactively transparent about any positive cases within our workforce to keep our customers and staff informed.
As the case numbers increase across the country, it is now more important than ever that we all remain fully committed to our health and safety practices that we’ve been so faithfully following throughout the pandemic.
And as Thanksgiving approaches it is essential for all of us to be particularly vigilant. Remember the basics from public health: Stay home and off transit if you are ill; wear your face covering and ensure you keep both your nose and mouth covered (we’ve got great new branded masks to add to your stash); wash your hands regularly and use hand sanitizer when you can’t; and limit your social interactions – even during holidays.
Many of our office staff are continuing to work from home for the time being. While at work, it is mandatory for all Metrolinx employees and customers to wear face coverings to protect those around them. This along with over 40 other safety actions has helped prevent outbreaks on our system and keep our case numbers low. Out of a workforce of approximately 4,300 staff, this is the 15th Metrolinx employee who has tested positive for COVID-19.
