Meet the team members working on the Hurontario LRT
Team of transit experts is out talking to residents & business about the Hurontario LRT project.

Sometimes there’s no replacement for old fashioned face-to-face conversations.
Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic has made that more difficult for so many people and businesses. But as Metrolinx continues to make progress on the Hurontario light rail transit (LRT) project – it’s even more important to keep people in the loop.
That’s why the transit agency has a diverse team of 12 community canvassers – front line staff – that try to visit every property, resident, and business along the Hurontario LRT route twice a year.
The most recent canvass hit more than 3,500 doors, which includes businesses and residents.
It’s all in the name of two-way communication and consultation.
The community connectors are there to help raise awareness about the Hurontario LRT project, plus they gather feedback and concerns that they bring back to the teams planning the transit project.
Once COVID-19 restrictions were lifted earlier this year, canvassers resumed their work armed with masks and physical distancing to keep everyone safe. And we wanted to know how they’re finding their work as they knock on doors and engage with the community.
