Metrolinx is working to deliver more transit across the region.
In order to accommodate construction, train schedules will be temporarily adjusted over the weekend.
On Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9 GO Trains will run approximately hourly on the Lakeshore East GO Line, between Durham College Oshawa GO and Union Station, making all stops.
Eastbound trains going from Union Station to Durham College Oshawa GO will depart Union Station hourly, at 14 minutes past the hour, from 9:14 a.m. to just after midnight at 12:14 a.m. One final train will leave Union Station at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 9 only.
Westbound trains will leave Durham College Oshawa GO at 34 minutes after the hour from 7:34 a.m. to 10:34 p.m. One final train will leave Durham College Oshawa GO at 11:39 p.m. on Saturday, April 8 only.
Lakeshore West Line travellers going further east, past Toronto’s downtown core, will find some trips ending at Union Station and may have to wait for the next Lakeshore East GO Train. Be sure to listen for onboard announcements and plan ahead.
More information on long weekend schedules
Ahead of the Easter long weekend, be sure to check schedules before heading out, especially with many events taking place across the city.
It’s important to note, on Good Friday, April 7, GO Transit will operate a Sunday schedule, and on Saturday, April 8, GO Transit’s new service will begin.
As always, gotransit.com and triplinx.ca can help with your trip planning and the Service Updates page has real-time information.
Why is construction happening?
Work is being done to support significant service improvements on the Lakeshore East GO Line and on the new Ontario Line subway project.
In fact, Metrolinx arranges schedules so that several work crews across different projects can work simultaneously to use the time more efficiently.
