Changes to Barrie Line GO service April 1 to April 3
Customers heading to Toronto should plan ahead as many train trips will be replaced by buses.
Mar 30, 2023
Construction on the Davenport Diamond Guideway project means changes to the way Barrie Line customers travel.
This project supports the GO Expansion program for more frequent, all-day, two-way service on the Barrie Line in the future, and enables service every 15 minutes or better, between Union Station and Bradford GO, and service every 30 minute up to Barrie.
Starting Saturday April 1, construction crews will be working on the tracks south of Downsview Park GO Station, which means GO Trains won’t be able to pass through the area over the weekend.
Crews will be connecting the tracks on the Davenport Diamond Guideway – which will allow GO Trains to travel over the existing CP Rail freight tracks. This will improve GO Train service reliability.
This work is expected to take three days (April 1 to April 3) with regular GO Train service resuming on Tuesday April 4.

Here’s what you need to know
Saturday April 1 to Sunday April 2
GO Trains will only be running between Allandale Waterfront GO and Downsview Park GO.
Once at Downsview Park GO, customers heading into Toronto can take the TTC to finish their trip.
For customers heading north, they will have to do the same trip in reverse. That means taking the TTC to Downsview Park GO to connect to a northbound GO Train.
Monday April 3
There will be some GO Trains running during the morning and afternoon rush hours between Allandale Waterfront GO and Downsview Park GO.
In the morning that includes four trips leaving Allandale Waterfront GO (5:18 a.m., 6:18 a.m., 6:48 a.m., 7:48 a.m.)
In the afternoon there will be four trips leaving Downsview heading north (4:08 p.m. 4:53 p.m., 5:23 p.m., 6:08 p.m.)
GO Bus service will be available outside of the morning and afternoon rush hours. That includes early morning, midday and late evening.
Replacement GO Buses will provide service between Union Station Bus Terminal, Rutherford, Maple, King City, Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury, Bradford, Barrie South and Allandale Waterfront GO stations.
