Guildwood GO Station

We are making major upgrades to Guildwood GO Station to make it easier and more convenient for customers to access the station. The work supports future two-way all-day service, bringing fast, frequent, reliable, and electrified service to your neighbourhood.

We are building a new, expanded station building with improved amenities that will make our customers’ commute more convenient, including larger indoor waiting areas, improved lighting levels, expanded washrooms, and an outdoor waiting plaza. We are also making platform improvements (e.g. new canopies, heated shelters, and snow melt systems), as well as improvements to the parking lots and Kiss & Ride areas to enhance traffic flow. The new station is anticipated to be complete by early 2019.

All platform work, including augering piles on this project must be conducted overnight outside of service hours. Overnight hours on weekdays are 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. including time to setup and on weekends from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. including time to setup. Daytime work hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Metrolinx has a dedicated, on-the-ground Community Relations team who will work with the community for construction associated work at the Guildwood GO Station.

Residents living in the area are encouraged to sign up for our email distribution list for the Guildwood GO Station construction work by emailing jody.robinson@metrolinx.com or by calling 416-202-7210.

Work is progressing well at the GO Station. West platform work is underway with construction of new stairs and elevator shafts, curb installation, as well as preparation for adding the snowmelt system. Starting early spring 2018, the lifting and placement of the canopy sections is expected to continue to mid-2018. A crane will be placed on the south side to carry out this work at night. This work can only be completed at night when trains are not operating. The lifting and placement of the canopy sections is expected to continue to mid-2018. Typical construction sounds can be expected.

The new station building is well underway. Work continues on both entrances to the west tunnel. The new east tunnel and platforms are now opened for customers. The new station is still on track for completion by early 2019.
