FINCH WEST LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT (LRT)

Finch West LRT

We’re making tracks for Torontonians. The Finch West LRT is an 11-kilometre light rail transit line that will run on Finch Avenue, from the new TTC Finch West Subway Station at Keele Street to Humber College. The line will provide new rapid transit to neighbourhoods that need it the most.

CONNECTED

Bus Terminal Interior

Let’s get moving, Toronto. With 18 stops from Humber College to a subway interchange at Keele Street through northwest Toronto, the Finch West LRT will connect you to the rest of the TTC, GO, MiWay, Viva and Züm transit services, a true example of a new regional rapid transit network.

GROWTH

Neighbourhood

Building rapid transit in Northwest Toronto is an integral part our vision of an integrated transportation network across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The LRT will help drive economic growth, reduce travel and connection times, and improve the quality of life in your community.

RENEWAL

Lifestyle

It’s about the big picture - the LRT will help transform communities like Jamestown, Rexdale and Black Creek into vibrant areas and streetscapes that are accessible for drivers, transit riders, cyclists and pedestrians alike.

WHERE WILL THE LRT STOP?

Now you can meet your neighbours, the ones across the street and the ones across town.

The 18-stop LRT will run between Humber College and the new Finch West Subway Station on the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension.

PROJECT AND CONSTRUCTION NOTICES

Vehicle

In February 2016, Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to companies shortlisted to design, build, finance and maintain the Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) project.

In May 2017, Metrolinx confirmed that it had entered into an agreement with Alstom to build 17 light rail vehicles for the Finch West LRT project.

The RFP is expected to close by the end of 2017, with construction slated to begin in 2018.
