PRESTO around the GTHA and Ottawa

Currently, more than 1.5 million transit riders are using PRESTO across GO Transit, UP Express, and nine transit agencies across the “905” and Ottawa, including:

Oakville Transit

PRESTO has been available on Oakville Transit since 2009. The City of Oakville was one of the first areas to receive PRESTO, with devices installed on Oakville Transit and at Oakville area GO stations.

The roll-out of PRESTO across the entire Oakville Transit network was complete in 2010.

MiWay

In July 2007, the City of Mississauga was the first test site for PRESTO card use. Five hundred commuters transferred between MiWay shuttle buses and GO Trains using PRESTO.

By May 2011, PRESTO was available to all adult riders across the MiWay network. Exclusive co-fare discounts were also made available to those using PRESTO to transfer between participating transit agencies and MiWay.

Brampton Transit

Since May 2011, passengers travel on Brampton Transit using the PRESTO card. Exclusive co-fare discounts are available to those using PRESTO to transfer between participating transit agencies and Brampton Transit.

York Region Transit (YRT)

Since July 2011, passengers can travel on YRT using the PRESTO card. Exclusive co-fare discounts are available to those using PRESTO to transfer between participating transit agencies and YRT.

Burlington Transit

Burlington Transit was an early adopter of PRESTO and rolled out devices for use across the entire system in 2010. By 2011, exclusive co-fare discounts were available PRESTO users who transfer between participating transit agencies and Burlington Transit.

Hamilton Street Railway (HSR)

Since May 2011, passengers can travel on HSR using the PRESTO card. Exclusive co-fare discounts are available to PRESTO users who transfer between participating transit agencies and HSR (not applicable with period passes).

Durham Region Transit

Since 2011, PRESTO has been available on Durham Region Transit. Exclusive co-fare discounts are available to those using PRESTO to transfer between GO Transit and Durham Region Transit.

OC Transpo

Since 2013, PRESTO has been available on OC Transpo in Ottawa. PRESTO offers customers discounted single-ride fares and period passes.
