A better customer experience is on the way
Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including trains every 15 minutes or better on the Lakeshore West line. To help support this work, Metrolinx is upgrading our rail network to enable electrified and fully accessible service, including accessibility and amenity upgrades to Toronto’s Mimico GO Station, to help serve you better.
The planned improvements to be built by Metrolinx will bring the station up to current Metrolinx accessibility standards by the end of 2023:
The upgrades will also include provisions for future electrification of rail service, including grounding and bonding, and Overhead Contact System (OCS)
Metrolinx has also partnered with a private real estate developer to help build the new Mimico station. Mixed-use Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is proven to increase ridership, promote other modes of access to our stations, and optimize use of transit lands.
The developer would cover all the costs and construct:
Metrolinx and the developer will continue the work to better define the integrated development details and timelines.
We will provide updates on the entire project as they become available.
