Want to see Toronto moving? Then have we got a project for you. Meet the Finch West LRT. It’s a new 11-kilometre light rail transit line that will make commuting across Toronto easier than ever before. With connections to the TTC, the subway will always be on your doorstep. And of course, it brings new stations and stops, taking you from York Region to Brampton and everywhere in between. It’s a truly regional rapid transit network, and it’s going to change the way you live in Toronto.

Let’s say you’ve got to get to class at Humber College, and you live near Keele. The Finch West LRT has got you covered. With 18 new stops and stations for students and residents alike, the LRT connects to TTC, GO, Miway, Viva, and Züm transit services. Gain access to a regional web that will take you across this incredible city.

The Finch West LRT is the economic boost Northwest Toronto needs. It’s going to cut travel and connection times, fuel economic growth, and make the community a better place to live and play.

If you live in Jamestown, Rexdale, or Black Creek, smile and look ahead – we’re helping to transform your community. A new vibrancy is being built, with streetscapes accessible for drivers, transit riders, cyclists, pedestrians, and everyone who lives here. The Finch West LRT is freedom and choice for families, as they move across our city.

In February 2016, Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to companies shortlisted to design, build, finance and maintain the Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) project.

In May 2017, Metrolinx confirmed that it had entered into an agreement with Alstom to build 17 light rail vehicles for the Finch West LRT project. The RFP is expected to close by the end of 2017, with the contract awarded and construction slated to begin in 2018.
