Walter Mulkewich

Walter Mulkewich is a former Mayor of Burlington with 21 years of experience as an elected municipal politician. Prior to this, he acted as a City & Regional Councillor in the City of Burlington and the Region of Halton.

In his years as Mayor and Councillor, Walter assumed leadership roles when dealing with a number of issues related to planning, economic development, environment, transit, housing, social services, and culture. He also had successful careers in education as a teacher, in business as a sales and marketing coordinator, and in social services as Executive Director of a community based agency. Since his retirement as Mayor, Walter has served as a member and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hamilton Port Authority, as well as a member and supporter of a variety of church and community organizations, committees, and boards.
