Braz Menezes

The photo of Braz Menezes Braz Menezes is an independent consultant with over 40 years of international professional consulting experience in architectural and urban planning focusing. His experience, which has been gained while working mainly in the private and government sectors, has focussed on international coalition building, urban strategy formulation and policy reform, post-disaster reconstruction, urban transportation, and urban development leadership. Over a 25-year period, he held Senior Consultant, Project Coordinator and Manager positions with the World Bank, Canadian International Development Agency and the United Nations Environment Programme (Kenya). He holds a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Nairobi and a post graduate Diploma in Civic Design from the University of Liverpool, UK. He has a Certification from the Royal Canadian Institute of Architects (1977) and has taken numerous professional development courses through the World Bank.

Over the past three years, he has also been very active in a volunteer capacity, as the Chair of the Planning and Development Committee of the York Quay Neighbourhood Association (YQNA), and since 2007 as Chair of the Queens Quay Harbourfront Business Improvement Area (QQHBIA). Braz has participated in all initiatives of Waterfront Toronto in connection with the rehabilitation of the Central Waterfront and is a member of the Advisory Board of the proposed GeoSpace Planetarium.
