Prior to his retirement, Art Leitch held the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Hamilton Utilities Corporation (HUC) from 2000-2006. Art has also held various positions at the City of Hamilton, including acting as General Manager of Public Works, CEO of the Hamilton Street Railway Company, and Commissioner at the Hamilton Hydro-Electric Commission. His work experience has also taken him to the Region of Durham, the Region of Halton, United Utilities International PLC and Sarnia Hydro.

Art has held positions on the Boards of Directors of various organizations including those of the Canadian Automobile Association (Vice-Chair), the Ontario Clean Water Agency (Vice-Chair), the Link-Line Group of Companies (Chair), Ontario Energy Association (Chair 2003-2004), and HUC. He holds professional affiliations with various associations including the Professional Engineers Association and Institute of Corporate Directors.
