Metrolinx Board meets Thursday, December 3

TORONTO: November 30, 2015 – The Metrolinx Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, December 3, 2015 to hear a number of updates from Metrolinx operating divisions—GO Transit, UP Express, and PRESTO—as Metrolinx continues to build more transit and improve transportation across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

The Board will also consider the annual GO fare increase. The annual increase of fares in 2016 will help GO Transit respond to increasing ridership demand while continuing to provide the best possible service to customers. The proposed tiered fare increase would mean freezing the lowest fares for the shortest distances, and increasing the discount when using PRESTO.

Metrolinx Board Chair J. Robert S. Prichard and CEO Bruce McCuaig will be available to media following the public session of the board meeting. Please note that the public session begins at approximately 9:45 am.

Date: Thursday, December 3, 2015
Time: Approximately 9:45 a.m.
Location: Metrolinx Head Office, West Wing, Union Station, 97 Front St. West, at the corner of York Street, 4th Floor, Executive Boardroom
